Our Whole Community, Inc. is a group of faith-based communities dedicated to providing health-related information, programs, and resources to the community to improve our overall life.
Please welcome our two newest members: Redeemer Lutheran Church in Winter Park and First Presbyterian Church of Maitland. They are committed to spreading the good word about health and wellness by offering many health-oriented programs to all.

Senior Food Packs, 10 lb. bags of shelf stable food, are available for adults age 50+ in need of supplemental food.

» Building C.A.R.E. Program - Begins Wednesday, Jan 11th for six weeks. 4:45 pm - 6:15 pm, First Presbyterian Church of Maitland, 341 N. Orlando Ave., Maitland
Hosted by Art Cross and Frank Fain of Orlando Health. This is a free six week course that focuses on addressing the practical, spiritual, and emotional needs of people who live with chronic illnesses and their caregivers. Class participants are welcome to dine at a family style meal costing only five dollars immediately following each week's session. » Walk to Jerusalem
Begins Sunday, January 15th through April 8th, Easter. First Presbyterian Church of Maitland, 341 N. Orlando Ave., Maitland
This is an imaginary trek that we will walk locally. Collectively we will walk the 2,487 miles from Casablanca, Morocco
to Jerusalem, Israel. Each week will have specific spiritual devotions and informative tours of the cities and regions
we would encounter if we really were walking to Jerusalem. We will monitor Blood pressure, weight, and waist
measurements to see if the walk improves our physical fitness. It promises to be a fun way to grow our faith and increase our overall health. Two classes offered beginning Thursday, January 19th from 7 pm - 8 pm, and on Wednesdays from 11 am - 12 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3377 Aloma Ave., Winter Park.
Classes are taught by certified laughter Yoga teacher, Pat Conklin. The World’s Happiest Workout: Improves breathing and exercises facial, thoracic, and abdominal muscles. » Care for the Chronically Ill - Through C.A.R.E.
Weekly Beginning Thursday Jan. 26th through Feb. 9th, 6 pm - 8:30 pm, First United Methodist Church, 125 N. Interlachen, Winter Park
Do you want to know how to journey with and support someone who has a chronic illness such as diabetes,
fibromyalgia, or Parkinson’s? There is a great need in our church community to provide love, support, and care for those who struggle with such chronic illnesses.
Through a special partnership with Orlando Health and the WP Health Foundation, participants will learn how to help such individuals by using the Connection, Awareness, Resources, and Education (C.A.R.E) model. Register at www.fumcwp.org or contact Betsy at 407-644-2906.

» Brain Fitness
Two Sessions held weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am - 2 pm, First United Methodist Church, 125 N. Interlachen, Winter Park.
This socially and cognitively stimulating model is set to enhance or maintain cognitive functioning for
individual success and enjoyment. Our participants have suffered stroke, cognitive impairment, Parkinson's
or Alzheimer's disease - and the program is specifically designed for anyone in the early stages of a memory disorder.

» Gentle Yoga

Gentle yoga is appropriate for all adults. Gentle Yoga is a series of stretches including yoga poses with some focus on breathing. Classes are taught by Gwen Burnett, certified Yoga teacher. Donations are accepted.
